About the Role

CoastalTech needs a Cybersecurity Analyst to protect our infrastructure and customer data. You'll be on the front lines of our security operations — monitoring threats, responding to incidents, and proactively strengthening our defenses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security events using SIEM tools and respond to alerts
  • Lead incident response efforts from detection through remediation
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and runbooks
  • Perform threat modeling and risk assessments for new systems
  • Support SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance and audit activities
  • Train employees on security awareness and best practices

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of incident response frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite)
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
